ChatGPT Message Tree Installation Guide

This guide will help you install and set up the ChatGPT Message Tree extension on different browsers, allowing you to quickly start using tree navigation and folding features to enhance your ChatGPT experience.

System Requirements

Before installing ChatGPT Message Tree, ensure your system meets the following requirements:

  • Supported Browsers: Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, and other Chromium-based browsers
  • Operating System: Windows 10/11, macOS 10.15+, Linux (major distributions)
  • Internet Connection: Required for installation and activation
  • ChatGPT Account: Free or Plus accounts are supported

Note: ChatGPT Message Tree only works on www.chatgpt.com and does not support other AI chat platforms.

Browser Installation Steps

Open the Web Store

Click here to open ChatGPT Message Tree's page in the Chrome Web Store.

Add to Browser

Click the "Add to Browser" button in the top-right corner of the page and follow the prompts to install the extension.

Pin the Extension to the Toolbar

After installation, click the extensions icon in the browser toolbar, find the ChatGPT Message Tree extension, and click the pin icon to pin it to the toolbar for quick access.

Login and Usage

After installation, you need to log in to continue using the extension:

Open the ChatGPT Website

Visit https://www.chatgpt.com in your browser.

Find the ChatGPT Message Tree Icon

On the ChatGPT.com page, locate the icon and click it to display the tree menu interface.

Login Popup

Click the login button in the tree interface to open the login popup.

Login Success

Enter the email address you used during payment and click "Get Verification Code." Copy the verification code from your email, enter it, and click "Login."

Important: Your license can be used on up to 3 devices. Each activation on a new device records the device information. If you need to use it on more devices, please contact us to purchase additional licenses.

Device Management

You can manage the devices logged into ChatGPT Message Tree:

Access the Device Management Page

On the ChatGPT page, click the icon to display the tree interface. Hover over the "More" (……) icon in the bottom-left corner to show additional function buttons, then click the "User" icon to open the "Account and Device Management" page.

Alternatively, click the icon in the browser toolbar to directly open the "Account and Device Management" page.

View Logged-in Devices

On the device management page, you can see all logged-in browsers, including browser names and activation dates.

Remove a Device

If you want to use ChatGPT Message Tree on a new device but have reached the 3-device limit, you can click the "Remove" button next to a device to log out of that browser.

Uninstallation and Reinstallation

If you need to uninstall or reinstall ChatGPT Message Tree, follow these steps:

Uninstalling ChatGPT Message Tree

  1. Open your browser's extension management page
  2. Find the ChatGPT Message Tree extension
  3. Click the "Remove" or "Uninstall" button
  4. Confirm the uninstallation

Reinstalling

To reinstall ChatGPT Message Tree, simply follow the installation steps earlier in this guide. Your license information will be retained, and you won't need to repurchase.

Note: Uninstalling the extension does not automatically log you out. If you want to use it on a new device, please log out of old devices via the device management page first.

Common Installation Issues

Can't see the ChatGPT Message Tree icon after installation?

Please check:

  1. Whether the extension is enabled (on the extension management page)
  2. Whether the icon is hidden in the extensions menu (click the puzzle icon in the browser toolbar to check)
  3. Try refreshing the ChatGPT page
Login prompts "User does not exist" or no verification code received

Please ensure:

  1. The email entered is the one you used during payment
  2. Check your email inbox; if the email is in the spam folder, mark it as not spam
